ASBMB responds to NIH request for information on proposed emeritus award

The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology has submitted comments to the National Institutes of Health regarding a proposed emeritus award for senior investigators. The ASBMB is not in favor of such an award. The society had several concerns including where the money for such an award would come from and whether the award would help young researchers beyond mechanisms already in place. You can read the full ASBMB response here.

The ASBMB encourages you to submit your own response to the RFI, and you can do so here. Remember comments on Dr. Sally Rockey’s blog concerning this proposed mechanism will not be counted as official comments. Responses are due by Friday, March 6.
